Joining our Survivor Advisory Group is a great way to give back and make new friends who get what you’ve been through and have the same passion as you do for Feel Your Boobies®!
Your time is precious, so we’ll make sure your involvement is meaningful and manageable.
Purpose
Our purpose for this Advisory Group is to engage with cancer survivors for feedback on the events and programs we develop, in order to improve and tailor our offerings to meet the needs of women to hear the life-saving message of Feel Your Boobies®. Advisors improve the programs we develop by helping us better understand how they came to their diagnosis and a survivor’s point of view.
It is important that this Advisory Group be representative of diverse communities and backgrounds to meet the needs of all survivors. Black, Indigenous, and people of color are encouraged to apply.
Position Summary
Advisory Group members will serve as a resource during planning meetings for community events and primarily our annual Bras Across the Bridge event. Members will help us identify bra drop off locations, sponsors, volunteers, event logistics, promotion and advertising of the event.
Meetings will be held quarterly, and then bi-weekly closer to the Bras Across the Bridge event.
Responsibilities
Share personal experiences and viewpoints in order to aid staff in the development and evaluation of programs and events
Remain compassionate, objective and constructive when sharing thoughts and opinions, understanding that each person’s experience differs
Respect the privacy of others
